LED stands for light-emitting diodes. This is a popular technology that is used in numerous applications such as electronics and lighting. The technology of light therapy uses the same LEDs to treat a person's skin. The technology uses blue light and red light from the LEDs to improve a person's skin. These lights are most commonly used for skin conditions such as acne and other skin-related problems. The light emitted by LEDs is a form of non-thermal light. This means that it does not cause the skin to heat up.

 

LED Light therapy for acne, or in short LED, is a treatment that uses different types of light to reduce acne. Blue and red light are the two main types of light used in LED.

Blue light targets the bacteria that cause acne, reduces inflammation, reduce the redness and swelling associated with acne.

Red light therapy to help treat skin conditions, penetrates deep into the skin helps promote healing and decrease the visibility of acne scarring. Soothe and repair skin tissue.

LED Light therapy is a non-invasive treatment option for acne, it does not require any downtime or recovery period. It is a gentle and painless treatment. Light therapy can be conjunct with other acne treatments to enhance their effectiveness. For example, microneedling for scars removal, ultrasound facial, galvanic facial and laser skin treatments to achieve the best possible results. This can help to speed up the healing process and reduce the likelihood of future breakouts.
